    Parties: (i) Joseph Winwood of Saint Botolph, Aldgate [Middlesex], distiller and Susanna, his wife, lately called Susanna Gill, widow who was devisee for her life under the will of Thomas Margetts, late of Bedford, gentleman, deceased; Thomas Way of Cosmore, Ippollitts [Hertfordshire], gentleman, nephew and devisee in tail under the will of Thomas Margetts; (ii) Thomas Taylor of Hitchin [Hertfordshire], gentleman (iii) Richard Tristram of Hitchin, gentleman (iv) John Midwinter of Hitchin, surgeon and apothecary and Dinah, his wife Operative Part: - to confer estate on Susanna Winwood for her life, remainder to Thomas Way, remainder to (iv) and to bar all estates in tail and in consideration of a marriage John Midwinter and Dinah, his wife (née Dinah Hobbs, niece of Thomas Way); - (ii) paid 5/- each to Joseph Winwood, Susanna Winwood and Thomas Way; - (i) released (a)-(e) to (ii) Property: (a) messuage in Bedford, Saint Peter de Merton formerly in the occupation of William Tippist; (b) garden in Bedford, Saint Peter de Merton in occupation of Thomas Smith; (c) close called Great Collet alias Collins Close containing 8 acres in Bedford, Saint Cuthbert in occupation of Robert Beverley, esquire; (d) one other close of pasture in Bedford; (e) remaining part of an old malting at W end of an orchard belonging to (a) with barley loft over it Habendum: - to (ii) to the use of (ii) for ever with the intent that he become perfect tenant in a common recovery Copy examined 11 September 1819 by R H Gibbon and Edmund Reeve, clerks to Pearse and Son of Bedford, solicitors
