    (I) Appointment by way of mortgage of 30 August 1843 Reciting: - Z1542/2/1/1; - John Baxter had sold off small portions of the land to William Parrott, Louisa Hodgkins, William Shouler Wilson, James Cobb and John Favell and had built a dwelling-house on the other part where he now lived and had nearly finished building two more and contemplated the immediate commencement of a fourth and needed £400 Operative Part: - (i) appointed (a)-(b) to (ii) for £400 Property: (a) several pieces of land and four messuages built on them, partly in Bedford, Saint Paul and partly in Bedford, Saint Peter de Merton; (b) land in Harpur Street N of (a) and bounded: N or NE partly by ground sold by John Baxter to William Shouler Wilson and partly by land later described [not abstracted]; W or NW by Harpur Street; S or SE by land sold by John Baxter to Louisa Hodgkins; E or SE by land of George Dilley Habendum - to the use of (ii) with proviso for equity of redemption - interest 4½% Covenant: - by (i) to repay (ii) (II) Z1542/2/4/1 (III) Will of 27 August 1864 of Richard Halfhead appointing E C Little of Stroud [Gloucestershire], gentleman and Mark Whyley of Bedford, solicitor as executors and trustees and evising all his real estate to the use of his executors and trustees in trust for sale (IV) Death of Richard Halfhead on 3 May 1867 and his burial at York (V) Proof of the will and two codicils of Richard Halfhead in York DPR on 22 July 1867
