    … four messuages in Hockliffe and Battlesden:- one occupied by William Hobbes, with 8 acres 1 rood one in Hockliffe near the said messuage between land of John Broughton, esquire on either side; with close adjoining, and 2 acres, one acre at end of said croft between land of William Hebbes and land late held by John Broughton, one acre in the croft one in the north end of Hockliffe was burnt with all charters and evidence, as William's neighbours can witness one in Battlesden with 1½ acres, and 6 acres dispersed in the fields of Battlesden to be held by copy of the court of the Honour of Gloucester 12 November 1528; which 4 messuages they lately had by grant of William Hebbes and wife Joan Witnesses: Thomas Hawkyns, John Sethyng, Thomas Grome senior, Nicholas Fourthsnyth, Thomas Studds
