Dr Holland to dinner. Commission executed according to direction. Dr H most agreeable but called away by professional duties soon after dinner. The Greys being turned out to grass for two months while she visits her sister Lady H Ellice 8 miles away at Brentford. Miss Grant to Wimbledon. Son Sam riding along coast from Brighton & will continue while money lasts, about a fortnight. Must not enter upon subject sunk too deeply into heart but am better - have gone safely through first struggle & fix attention to kind children & friends left, conduct and affectionate kindness of Son Sam past all praise. Went to Mr Wilkie & delivered packet, he will acknowledge receipt in few days & might write on business. Son Sam drove Miss Grant & me to Hampstead, Mrs Carr & 2 daughters at home.
