"I yesterday received a cheque from Mr Smith for the fixtures ... I also secured priced catalogue and accounts and cheque ... I have today written to Annie [Fitzgerald] with an account of the things stated to belong to her and on hearing from you I will send a cheque to Messrs Rounds for the balance, less the amount belonging to her ... Will you write to your tenant at Wollaston (?) and tell him that you will be obliged to him to allow Messrs Brittin, Bevan and Company to sink a pit on his land to test the ironstone, they of course making good any damage that may be done ... "
