    Reciting Will of Mathew Lee dated 8 November 1709 by which (among other things) he devised the rents and profits of the estate which he purchased of Pemberton Bedford to Margaret, his wife, whom he made sole executrix for the better maintenance of herself and her 5 children and the one she was pregnant with, for 14 years after his death, if she remained a widow and lived so long. Otherwise to Edward Rudd and William Crump, Westminster, gentleman, since deceased, for the maintenance of the children, for remainder of said term and then in trust for sale. Proceeds of sale to be divided: to son Robert Lee, at 21 - £800 to son Edward, at 21- £800 to unborn child, if a son - £800; if a daughter - £800 at 21 or marriage to daughter Mary - £800 at 21 or marriage any overplus to be divided between them. NOW: in consideration of £550 paid to Edward Rudd, by direction of Mary Lee, Edward Lee, Richard Lee and Samuel Bedford, by iii), i) and ii) release to i) - pieces arable land dispersedly in common fields of Clifton (58 acres) once in occupation of Thomas Palmer and afterwards of Mathew Lee and now of William Lisles to be held to use of iii) for ever.
