    i) Justinian Povey, esquire, of Hounslow, Middlesex ii) George Duncombe and his brother Anthony Duncombe of Stoake next Guldeford (Surrey) (recites: Sir Richard Conquest by Statute Staple of 19 February 1636/7 acknowledged to owe to i) £600. Not paid, therefore in Hilary Term 1647, i) sued out writ of extent from Chancery. By virtue of this, Mathyas Taylor, Sheriff of Bedfordshire caused inquisition to be made at Shefford 19 March 1647/8. Found Sir Richard Conquest in 1637 was seised of ... capital messuage in Houghton Conquest; messuage and appurtenances in Hawnes in occupation Richard Keyes junior, and Little Beane Crofte close (4 acres); messuage and appurtenances in Hawnes in occupation Thomas Richardson; Newfield close, Hawnes (52 acres) in occupation Sir Richard Conquest, Richard Baldocke and Thomas Fletcher; Clarkes close in Hawnes (30 acres); Maudlyne close, Hawnes (16 acres); 4 closes in Hawnes (35 acres) in occupation William Worlidge; Margetts Close and Over Maudlyne Close (35 acres) in Houghton Conquest and Hawnes in occupation Thomas Richardson. Lands of annual value of £200. These lands seised by sheriff and action returned by writ to Chancery. i) obtained Writ of Liberate on 31 May 1647, 18 June following, sheriff delivered lands freehold to i) until debt should be satisfied. i) has since received £240 towards settlement) i) to Anthony Duncombe ... land and property of recital as long as extent holds Tag for seal 15 Jun 1649 witnesses: Roger Heath; Joseph Blomeley; Henry Shaftow Endorsements: i) Memorandum 27 September 1649; Richard Symes of Shalford, Surrey, gentleman, by Letter of Attorney from i) [see Haynes Park Manuscripts no.111] entered above premises and delivered this deed as act of i) to William Duncomb of London, gentleman, for use of Anthony Duncomb; witnessed: i) and Thomas Wilcox ii) Note that this deed was shown to Richard Symes at his examination by commission of Chancery 15 October 1658. witnessed: Rose Fencher, Thomas Arnald, John Walton iii) Note that this deed was shown to Roger Heath, esquire, at time of his examination in Chancery in suit of Dame Elizabeth Conquest and others versus George Duncomb, esquire
