    i) Sophia Brightman, Bedford, spinster ii) Thomas Bannister, Bedford, baker iii) William Jones, coal merchant Charles Frederick Timaeus, printer (trustees of the Bedford Freehold Benefit Society) Kezia Brightman died on 29 January 1840. By her will (proved Prerogative Court of Canterbury) she appointed her 3 daughters, Elizabeth, Sophia and Sarah as executrixes Sarah died before her mother and Elizabeth in April 1840 so will proved by i) mortgage of £220 has long since been paid off by ii) on 26 February 1847 iii) paid £200 to ii) and to secure said sum and also £62 (amount of his share in the Society) ii) deposited his title deeds with the Society ii) has since paid off £105 so only £95 remains and has also paid £14..8s..2d on account of said £62, so £47..11s..10d due ii) is also entitled to further sum of £200 advanced to him in respect of further share, so he has mortgaged his freehold property to secure repayment of said sum and £62 (amount of share) now in consideration of £220 paid to i) £95, £47..11s..10d owed by ii) to iii) £200 paid by iii) to ii) i) at request of ii) grants to iii) - messuage or shop in Well Street with yard and premises belonging, lately occupied by ii) and now by Thomas Austen and which messuage was recently built by ii) on site of cottage formerly occupied by Mrs Allen and then James Bassett North: passage from Horsford Street to rear of cottages erected in said street South: Well Street East: formerly --- Morris, now devisees of Joseph Lilley, deceased WesT: ii) - ground measuring 21ft from East to West 17ft from North to South and adjoining said premises North: said passage South: devisees of said Joseph Lilley East: Horsford Street West: yard of above premises with cottage, shed and buildings recently [erected] on said piece of ground signatures of i) and ii) endorsed receipt witness: Thomas Cornish 10 Jul 1852 receipt for repayment of share of £62 1 Jul 1854 receipt for remainder of money due 30 Nov 1859
