    i) Thomas Thorns, late of St Neots, Huntingdonshire, but now of Eaton Socon, coach and wagon master and farmer ii) George James Gorham, St Neots, banker John Hobson, Eaton Socon, miller reciting: will of Robert Thorns, deceased, dated 22 October 1822 by which he bequeathed to wife, such part of household furniture, plate, linen and china as she chose, not exceeding in value £100 also he gave various legacies. Residue of personal property to son i). ii) appointed executors. By codicil of 24 October 1822 bequeathed other legacies. Robert Thorns died on 26 October 1822. Will proved (Prerogative Court of Canterbury) on 6 December 1822 ii) have paid debts and discharged some of the legacies i) wishes to be put into possession of residue of personal estate and will pay off remainder of debts, legacies etc. Proposes to convey below mentioned real estate to them as security, to which ii) have agreed now in pursuance of the agreement i) releases to ii) - messuage or cottage in South End of Eaton Socon, with orchard or close pasture adjoining and dovehouse standing thereon South and West: next described piece of land East: Great North turnpike road North: land late Radford's and White Horse Estate - allotment of plot of land in Backside Field and Norton Field in Eaton Socon (24 acres 1 rood 12 perches) as same is now divided into 2 bounded [as in X732/71] assigned by will of Robert Thorns to son i) - messuage and wheelwright's shop in Eaton Socon adjoining White Horse Estate once in occupation of Richard Barcock, then Clement Radford and now John Dumbleton bounded part by Great North Road all other parts by White Horse Estate - 2 cottages situated near the South end of Eaton Socon part premises of Thomas Thorns hereinafter described other part Francis Rix remaining part Great North Road - 1 acre 3 roods land purchased from Robert Debnam - 1 acre land part yard and garden late belonging to Ann Almond other part late Debnams remaining part Thomas Rudd - all other property of Robert Thorns on East side of Great North Road to be held by ii) as a security for the legacies of Robert Thorns, deceased is agreed that total amount secured shall not exceed £2,000 property to be insured to amount of £1,000 signature of i) endorsed: witnesses: William Day, William Day junior of St Neots 16 and 17 Feb 1824 also endorsed with: Lease and Release (being reconveyance) a) George James Gorham John Hobson b) Thomas Bowyer, Buckden, Huntingdonshire Nevile Day, St Neots, Huntingdonshire, gentleman Thomas Thorns and wife of Robert Thorns are both dead by his will dated 1 August 1826 Thomas Thorns devised all his real estate in Eaton Socon, St Neots and Eynesbury to b) in trust for sale all legacies which a) were liable to pay as executors of Robert Thorns were duly paid by Thomas Thorns of b) now a) release to b) - above mentioned property signatures of a) witnesses: William Mattock, clerk to Mr Day, solicitor, St Neots Mary Lucas 10 and 11 Oct 1827
