Has had account of Corunna & death of Sir John Moore. The unhappy campaign will reflect on the character of the English; Spaniards will join the French. English here in dismay, will be obliged to take refuge in Gibraltar. Reports arrival of 3,000 English troops from Lisbon, waiting for transports; they might defend this place if provisioned. Peace would enable writer to come home through Switzerland.
