  • Scope and Content
thanking correspondent for draft for £17..0s..6d being the amount of our account for last season. We delayed acknowledging the same a few days, expecting to ship your order in a vessel that clears two days hence, but a frost has taken place and a deep snow has fallen. On the other side we send a list of apples that we can at present supply you with. We have in all a trifle more than 200 sorts. Those marked with a cross are table fruit, and those marked "ab" we have a great abundance of, being the kinds much in demand. "dw" means we have dwarfs, but the standards are all sold. We may observe what we call Standards are only what you call half Standards with stems 3 to 4 feet. Full standard apples are not saleable here. We are glad to hear so good an account of Mr W Gibbs and sincerely wish him success in his business. endorsed with list of 39 varieties of apple.
