"Mr Andrew Underwood,
I expect by now you would have heard that my husband Matthew See from Millbrook sadly died after much suffering on 19th February. He is buried by his wish in Millbrook. Now going through the photos and snaps today. I found a little photo, of my great-grandmother. It is not very large and I don't know what the photo is made on, it is not faded at all. Her daughter, my grandmother Mrs Bolt, her husband used to repair or make shoes and boots in his old train carriage shop in Flitwick High Street of which I can well remember. I will now go back to the photo, I knew I had but keep and treasure very much. I compared this photo with the lady standing by the gate, it looks exactly like her and one of her sons Harry I think the eldest, she had 3 sons, Harry, Joe and the other one I cannot remember. I thought I would write to you, as I wrote when you had a photo in local paper Ampthill memories, with Deafy Billington which previously had houses where the Board Room Ampthill. The tail end reading said you were not sure who the other people were, you also so very kindly sent me a spare photo of the houses which I treasure that too. I cannot get to you very well but if when you are around this way I would willingly show you great grandma's picture.
In your memory box do you have any pictures of Flitwick football team about 60 odd years ago, my dad used to be in the team, he also used to go refereeing as well. I have seen a lovely one reprinted and framed. Dad's name was Sidney Pateman known as Sid. Mr Groom is in picture, he worked for Franklin's Coal. Mr Goddard, Flitwick High Street, Builder, Mr Watson, Flitwick. Just wondered if you had one or know where I could perhaps try to get a copy. It's a pity I forget the year the picture was taken.
Well sir sorry to trouble you
Best wishes,
Beatrice See
P.S. Just thought, I think the year 1926."
