My Dear Sir, I didn’t answer you before for waiting the notice from the house’s owner to whitewash the offices which Your Excellency tells me in your letter and not having had notice, I tell Your Excellency that if you want them to be whitewashed, I await for your notice and if there would be any proportion of gypsum in this place, Your Excellency should tell me if I should go to fetch it for not having it in this house, I would pay for it myself. Manuel Gomez, the chairmaker, has given me his word that he will take the chairs on Sunday come what may I will supervise him taking them. Of all the above things I await for an answer and I remain, Your Excellency, constant and devoted servant. Antonio de la Torre.
