    i) Thomas Wylde of the Commandry within the city of Worcester, esquire, eldest son and heir of Robert Wylde, esquire, late of the same ii) Nathaniel Halhead of Petersham, Surrey, gentleman iii) Robert Wylde of London, gentleman, brother of i) James Martin of London, goldsmith [Recites Will of Edmund Wylde late of the Inner Temple 22 October 1691:- to kinsman Robert Wylde senior, father of i), for life, and then to eldest son etc., the manors of Great Totham and Gibcrax, Essex; £140 to be laid out in purchase of lands for the almshouse and free school at Houghton Conquest, founded by Sir Francis Clarke of Houghton Conquest, testator's grandfather by the mother's side] No convenient land having yet been found, the money has remained at interest with Thomas Wylde. The latter has now sold to Nathaniel Halhead the manors of Great Totham and Gibcrax, and undertakes to pay the £140 within the year; for which the security meanwhile is to be £200 South Sea stock in the names of Robert Wylde and James Martin Witnesses: William Martin, Joh Martin, William Batty, Joseph Hilditch 29 Jun 1717 Endorsed with covenant from Thomas Wylde to Nathaniel Halhead that there is now no claim from the minister, churchwardens and overseers of Houghton Conquest on the manors purchased by him, since Thomas Wylde has now paid the £140 and has received a discharge (see X86/392) Witnesses: Edward Wylde, Joseph Southorns, Ann Halhed, John Martin, John Willdey 16 Apr 1719
