    Parties: (i) Sir Philip Monoux of Sandy, bart and Dame Elizabeth, (daughter of Ambrose Reddall of Eversholt by Judy his wife, formerly Judy Wells, both deceased and heir at law of Ambrose Reddall); (ii) John Cheshire alias Brinklow of Eversholt, yeoman; (iii) Edward Taylor of Potsgrove , yeoman; (iv) Robert Denis of Kempston, gentleman Reciting: - lease and release of 1 and 2 June 1798 of (a)-(d) from (1) Francis, 5th Duke of Bedford to (2) Sir Philip Monoux and his trustee (3) Robert Denis; - Dame Elizabeth Monoux, was heir at law of Ambrose Reddall by marriage settlement by lease and release of 24-25 February 1737 [1738] between (1) Richard Reddall, son of Ambrose Reddall and Sarah his wife and Ambrose Reddall, eldest son of Richard Reddall; (2) John Wells; (3) Judy Wells, spinster, only daughter of John Wells; (4) Thomas Meadows and Stephen Cooke and by the fact her father Ambrose Reddall died intestate; - (ii) had agreed with (i) to purchase (a) for £20 and (iii) had assigned Long Down Close and Long Tail Close of (ii) which were in mortgage to him by R6/19/3/63 and R6/19/3/68 Operative Part: - (i) appointed (a)-(d) to (ii) for £20; - (i) released (a)-(d) to (ii) for 10/- each Property: (a) piece of sward called Long Close, Eversholt, purchased by Duke of Bedford from Mary Gregory, widow lying next to land of Wilmer Willets and containing 1 acres, 2 roods, 25 poles in occupation of Richard Ford as under-tenant of William Croson; (b) swerd ground called Ford Mead Pightle containing 3 roods, 32 poles in occupation of Richard Ford as undertenant of William Croson; (c) small piece of sward, part of Apple Pasty Close containing 21 poles; (d) piece of land in Eversholt abutting on Seare alias Seared alias Secret Leys lately purchased by Duke of Bedford from Mary Gregory containing 2 roods, 1 pole Second Operative Part: - (i) released (e) to (ii) for 10/- each Property: (e) Gravel Pit Pightle of pasture in Eversholt of formerly of 2 acres, now of 1 acre, 3 poles abutting W on gravel pit and formerly in the occupation of William Fane, now John Cheshire alias Brinklow Covenant: - by (i) to bar estates tail in (d) (i) covenanted to levy a fine sur cognizance de droit come ceo etc to (iv) Habendum: - to the use of (iii) for 500 years begun by R6/19/3/63 to secure mortgage monies subject to equity of redemption Witnesses: - Samuel Davis; - John Rotherham
