"Like the Queen of Sheba after beholding the glories of Solomon, I feel there is no spirit left in me after seeing the wonders of Istanbul. This blue mosque is like something out of the Arabian nights. St.Sophia is the most wonderful, however. The greatest church in Christendom for 1000 years, then a mosque for 500, now a "museum", which simply means it is not used for religious purposes, like the cathedrals on the Kremlin. J.H."
