I told Lewis if extraordinary weather hape mee not I would hould. Now I send this bearer, being yt is good footway, and desire to give you som satisfaction. I could not satisfie Lewis in his busnis for that my son is not (as I expected) com home but hearinge he went fromm Thurleigh but upon Tuesday into Cambridgesheir wheare his wyf is. …" Mention of money due to Mr Bromsall, writer's son Lytton's man meeting in Baldocke way going to the term after Whitsuntide. Sent £10 by bearer in part payment of the debt .. what does Mr Bromsall mean by the 'odd money'. "Let me give you satisfaction for my sonne Lyttonn. He was told of some disgracefull words you used off him which was (when he was suter to his wife) how he ryd bragging through your towne to Thurley and that you did not only use such leke words but wrytte them in your letters. You knowe if any such things weare. I assur you he will wrong noe man for these wordes he wear ill taken, for your security by my bond if you enquire it wilbe taken for greater summes …" "Let me entreat you to use noe disgracefull wordes either of me or my sonne to this bearer, for he somewhat talketive but necessary for journeys"
