  • Production date
    From: 1814 To: 1814
  • Scope and Content
Thanks for return of petition. The amendments will be adopted. Sends the warrant for the Baron's detention, which is only persisted in to make it more difficult for him to prove an alibi, and to injure the writer's interests. If he establishes it, the whole case falls to the ground. He has been refused access to his papers, which are necessary for his defence. Protest that members of the Stock Exchange with a permit are allowed access to the Baron. The Baron has bound himself with securities to appear at his trial. In justice to Lord Cochrane [Admiral Thomas Cochrane] and writer the Baron should be set at liberty to find his witnesses.
