Doesn't know what to think of Nanny's account of him. Assumes alarm over as Mr. Aislabie didn't mention it. Long drought caused Grantham's servants to be ill. Rain started now. John Johnson, Fritz's man. His story for Nanny. Returned to England with letters of recommendation for Draper and Dr. Porteus. Delicate subject, not mentioned until Johnson gone [see also L30/17/4/97 & 105 and L30/14/315/4 & 27]. Baron Giusti's Chariot on road from Bilbao, doesn't know if it contains anything for them. Escurial on 6th or 7th.
