Scope and Content
Stayed to keep Lord Pelham company, have been on course at Lewes Races both days. Lucy went for first time. Grantham packed, ready to leave, was awaiting orders still on 25 June. Gibralter beseiged, news from Sir Charles Bunbury who came from London. Mr. Offley gone to Ashburnham. Assizes at Lewes begin tomorrow, proposal for a subscription to raise men. Duke of Richmond wants County to petition for their Militia to be kept in Sussex. Goes to Coxheath next week and returns along Coast. Tom Pelham will accompany him, his march to Exeter starts on the 8th.
