Thanks for Almanack. Has written to Draper asking him to prepare a part of the house in Whitehall for him. Impatient to hear of Tom Pelham's arrival in London. Carnival duller than ever. Amuse themselves better at home. Mr. Poulett and Mr. Hawkin's wine. Saw in papers ship had arrived. Grantham has been given a fine large picture by a Spanish painter; the Angel delivering St. Peter from prison. Has thoughts of buying a ‘holy family’ by Murillo. Already has 14 little copies of Velasquez/Velazquez.
