Arrived Friday, many others arriving, beginning to look like a water drinking place etc...Pleased with their house, preferable to last year’s. Theatre opened and Opera improved, dances very much so. Fabrice dances but she is not the favourite, a german is much admired. Waddilove has given him, for Nanny or Therese, a set of prints for the Mass book, most would be proper for a common prayer book, being sent to Whitehall with some other books. Lord Fife's embankment [Whitehall]. Grantham cannot consent. [see also L30/14/109 and L30/17/2/32 &50]. Hopes Mr. James not much hurt by his fall. Hopes Provost of Dublin has given Nanny a favourable account of them as he did to Therese. Sorry to see in papers that Archbishop of York has lost a son, paper calls him Thomas, but please confirm which son.
