Monkey from Brazil presented to King. Resembles a small lion. Detailed description. Also a Dove from Philippine Islands, resembling a Turtle [dove] except for the red mark on it's breast, hence it's name 'Wounded Dove'. Apologies for not enquiring after Cat or Dolly. Duque D'Ossuna's son's marriage going ahead, but now he has smallpox. Extraordinary that his parents, relations and house still frequent Court and other public places. Spanish Priests and Physicians trying to prevent practise of inoculation. However it prevails in villages in Provinces. Would like to see Therese's new designs for Cornish bowls. Wishes she could use her genius on articles in the Escurial.
