Commend my soule … Christ, my Redeemer To William Foskett, kinsman of North Crawley, Buckinghamshire, yeoman, John Keene the Younger, kinsman, of Leadborne, Mentmere, Buckinghamshire, yeoman (son of John Keene the Elder, testator's half brother) and John Ashwell, scrivener, in trust to see and apply money to purposes of will, customary, copyhold messuage in occupation of testator, in Ascott, two closes, pasture land, 105 acres arable, ley and meadow land lying dispersedly in the parish of Wing (copyhold) and several parcels of freehold land which father, Thomas, had in exchange from late Earl of Carnavon: use of copyhold lands without paying rent till Michaelmas To Mary Seare and Margaret, wife of Thomas Evans (daughters of Thomas Seare the elder of Eaton Bray, Bedfordshire, gentleman, and Mary his wife, kinswoman of testator), monetary bequests with annuity until legacies are paid To Thomas Seare the younger, John Seare, Elizabeth, wife of Stephen Purcell, Mary Seare and Margaret Evans (five of the children of Thomas Seare the Elder), residue in equal shares To Mary wife of Thomas Seare the Elder, for life, messuage where Thomas Walker lives, and all lands in Leadborne, Mentmere, Buckinghamshire: after her death, to trustees mentioned above, to sell and pay: To Faith, wife of John Grainger, Sarah Seare, spinster, Mychael and Richard (four younger children of Thomas and Mary Seare), monetary bequests Thomas and Mary Seare to discharge executors of £100, part of £300 put to interest by testator for use of Mary Seare: if they do not, all legacies to their children to be revoked To John Foskett of Wilstead, yeoman (kinsman) all houses, lands etc. in Marston Moretaine, charged with monetary bequests to William, his brother; Bernard Foskett; Caleb Foskett; Mary, wife of Edmund Shade; Alice, wife of of --- [John?] Price, citizen and turner of London; and Sarah, wife of --- [James?] King, citizen and baker of London, kinsmen: if these wishes are not carried out, land etc. in Marston Moretaine shall be divided:- half to William Foskett; half to Bernard and Caleb Foskett, Mary Shade, Alice Price and Sarah King To John Keene the Elder (half-brother) monetary bequest To John Keene the Younger, monetary bequest to discharge debt owed to testator To Richard, son of John Keene the Elder, monetary bequest To Anne, wife of John Goodspeed, kinswoman, daughter of John Keene the Elder, monetary bequest To John Keene of Crofton, Wing, kinsman, brother to Richard Keene (deceased), monetary bequest To five children of late Richard Keene, monetary bequest at age 21 To John Gordes, tenant of testator, monetary bequest To John Ashwell, monetary bequest To poor of Wing and of Mentmere, monetary bequest To children of William Foskett the Elder (deceased), of Thomas Seare the Elder, of John Keene the Elder and of Richard Keene (deceased), household goods and furniture in testator's dwelling To John Keene the Younger and William Foskett (executors), residue of personal estate Witnesses: Henry Millard junior, John Swinstead, Robert Ashwell 1 Jan 1716 Codicil: To Mary wife of Thomas Seare for life, Hams Close (two closes) in Leadborne, Mentmere, Buckinghamshire: thereafter to her four youngest children Faith, Sarah, Michael and Richard Witnesses: Elizabeth Gibard, Mary Nickolls, Daniel Hobcroft (mark) 24 Aug 1719
