Notice given to Thomas Smith, by [Rainton] Township's Assessors of duty upon Land, Windows, Servants etc., to produce a list of carriages, horses, servants etc. at Newby. Complied, except for list of servants, said they would be paid for in London. Stevenson and Seward ended up making two quarterly payments themselves, no require reimbursement. No joy with Smith. Rev. Mr. Waddilove no help either etc...
