    Received his of 17th from Kirby containing quote from the papers, if true "some Westminster Boy put it in". Ralph said nothing to confirm it's truth, said his Opus had been given in and looked over. Has written to Sir John Jervis requesting time of his setting out, if not until Spring. Thinks Richard should accept Sir John Lindsay's offer. Recommendations for Toulouse for Mr. Peirson's family requested by those at Stanmer. Grantham has no acquaintances there except Siere. Rode to Kensington, boys well, Lady Grantham stout, Lady Grey thinks she will be confined during first week of October. Grantham disagrees. Lady Yorke's Grand Circle and solemn Tea drinking.
