  • Scope and Content
Disappointed at not hearing from him etc... Mention of him being at Hackfall [nr. Studley]. Hasn't met with Campo yet. Went to St. James' but the King didn't come to Town for some reason. Going to see Lord Hardwick tonight, he goes out of Town tomorrow, Lady Bell recalls all Dick's conversation. The Town swarms with blue clothes but never red ones. Rumour of Mrs. Walpole going off to France with Jack Townshend. Doesn't believe it. Declined a Turtle from Mr. Udny yesterday. Lord Fitzwilliam doing the front of his house in Grosvenor Square. Miss Pelhams painting and pointing their in this Court. Boydell hasn't had the Velasquez home. Found the Table Frames "above gilt". To save further expense will remove Spanish Marbles to the little Tapestry room for the Winter. Yellow room little used. Somerset House looks handsome from the river. Hopes his last to Harry Thompson reached Fritz. Will be uneasy if he doesn't hear from him before he [G.] writes again. Lady Grantham continues remarkably well.
