Also refers to Lady Lifford [Alicia Hewitt, wife of James Hewitt, 2nd Viscount Lifford], who has 'enveigled my clergy to join the Methodist association in England for propagating the gospel...... I have told them I have no objection to propagate the gospel under the discretion of the Church, but I have great objection to the Church placing money in the hands of Methodists'.
