- Scope and ContentPleased to hear of his recovery. Extremely sorry on Mrs. Allanson's account of the picture you give of Mr. Lawrence, supposes he has given up the idea of wintering in Devonshire, Exeter unwholesome, Exmouth warm and near the sea. Salcombe was beneficial to Mrs. Peirce who spent a year there. Strange weather, snow on moors last week, violent rain and storms this week. Planting of the Hill finished. Assumes Frederick not coming to Town until after Xmas for various reasons. Thins Jack will find his way down. Little Girl receives Grantham's French letter. Captain Pole gone to Kitley for a week. Sir Robert Palk and Lady and Miss Palk expected at end of week. Lord Boringdon not putting himself out for visitors. Went with Little Girl to see Mrs. Heywood at Marristow, se is lame but better. Bath next week. Lord Mount Edgcumbe not at all well, lame but won't hear of Bath. Hoping to see Mr. Ley before he goes to London.
