Hoping to go to Devonshire next week. Lord Boringdon has gone to Newmarket this week, will not grudge their time from home if this helps him prepare for parting with his horses. Little Girl well, left in the care of the Housekeeper who is well behaved and educated. Brought up by the Drummond family, lived with Lady Dundas for ten years before she came to Saltram. Anne trusts her due to her informing her of the Governess's behaviour and her concern at it. Can't find a replacement. Mrs. Kyte and Miss Whitaker will hopefully recommend someone. Jack well, kept her company last Saturday and Sunday. Has lived with Lady Sydney ever since, at the Play with her and Lady Courtown on Wednesday in the Stage Box directly over against the King and Queen. At Court yesterday, the Kind asked after Frederick and Grantham. Lady Sydney carried Lady Charlot Bertie to be presented, she is going to Nice for the winter, Lady Cooke went with them etc... Lord Waldegrave kissed Hands for Master of Horse. Frederick has applied to succeed Waldegave. Lady Chatham recovering, talks of standing, hasn't done this for over eight months. Tom Pelham has been in Town, didn't see him, assumed on his way to Cambridge with George. Hoping Harry better, ill before they left Town in June. Lady Pelham has been ill, prevented from going to Peper Harow. Sorry little Frederick not well. Has escaped the Poulett's who have just left Devonshire. Has only seen Aunt Stainforth once since coming from Stanmer, no transport of her own. Lady Sydney sends her Coach and carried Anne home everyday. Dining there on Turtle there today
