    Lord and Lady Sydney, Georgiana and John left this morning. Mr. Parker taken ill as soon as they arrived. Still weak and low but out on horseback for air. Had one trip with them to see Mount Edgcumbe, by water. Pleased with their reception. Lord Sydney pleased with the Fish, gone back to Burton, not back until October. Poor Jack sets out middle of next week. Little prospect of finding his way back at Christmas. Had a letter from Grantham complaining of the emptiness of the town. Mr. Madison's death. Lord Ashburton's will. Mr. Radcliffe has been to Exeter respecting the business, he is a Trustee with Mr. Baring and Mr. Maurice. Lady Ashburton has £1000 a year and the choice of Putney or Park, if she takes neither she is to have £2000. He has left Miss Dunning *£10,000 and all his fortune if his son dies; about 120,000.
