- Scope and ContentGrantham arrived at 2 p.m., dined and entertained the little Boy [John Parker junior] with his Magick Lantern. Has now gone with Pelhams to the Pantheon. She has seen very little of him, he is very popular. Glad Frederick is well pleased with Dr. Moysey. Tom [Pelham] and Lady Midleton are coming to Town, Harry [Pelham] coming tomorrow. Dined at Mr. Herbert's yesterday "a Plymouth party", with the Sloanes and Sir David Lindsay. He has the Hampshire Regiment [assume Herbert] the Duke of Chandos having resigned that and the Lord Lieutenancy of the County because he was refused the Isle of Wight. Mr. Parker sends his love.
