- TitleFrom Thomas Pelham, Chichester to Frederick Robinson, Stanmer:
- Date free text9 Jul 1779
- Production dateFrom: 1779 To: 1779
- Scope and ContentMoving at short notice gives him satisfaction of knowing that a few hours notice is sufficient to march the two companies under his Command. Hoping to remain there for three weeks or so before marching to Exeter. Would Robinson and Harry come and visit him next week. Mrs. Frankland will insist upon lodging one of them. Duke of Richmond suddenly called away by a meeting in two Companies of the other Division of Petersfield about the "marching Guinea", situation settled, marching quietly to Exeter now. These mutinies a result of indulgences and lenient discipline of Officers at Chichester. Cannot say anything yet concerning meeting Grantham. Hopes latter will arrive in time to run away with the seals that hang between Lords Hilsborough and Wedderburn. Thank Harry for his letter.
