Tom dined there today with his Lieutenant "to keep up his Dignity and to preserve the Idea of his Military Duty". Agreed and confessed by Colonel Hay that Tom is best Officer in Corps. Heard from Yorkshire that Mr. Smelt [Leonard?] is returning to Court. The King has pressed for it and apartments are fitted up for him at Windsor.
