    Reciting (at Manor Court of 31 October and 1 November 1799) surrender of 11 May 1799 of William Smart of Norcott Court, Berkhamstead, otherwise North Church, Hertfordshire, gentleman, eldest son of Frances Smart, widow, deceased, formerly the wife of Thomas Smart, deceased, and Margaret, wife of William Smart (she having been separately examined from her husband), of … cottage then divided into 2, formerly in occupation of Matthew Browning and widow Bolton, and afterwards of John Webster at Lovell End North East: Hedge North West: highway to use of William Swinstead, Leighton Buzzard, tawyer, and Thomas Whitney of same place, labourer, as tenants in common At that court Thomas Whitney was admitted tenant to one moiety, Will of Thomas Whitney of 27 January 1829 by which he devised to sons in law William Slough and James Sanders His estate, right and interest in above 2 cottages, and all other his copyhold property in Leighton Buzzard, in trust for sale Will proved in Leighton Buzzard Peculiar Court, 28 October 1830 Admission on 28 and 29 October 1830 of William Slough and James Sanders to a moiety of said cottages As to moiety belonging to Barnabas Swinstead Surrender of William Smart (as above) and admission of William Swinstead to other moiety Will of William Swinstead of 29 June 1820 by which he devised to son Barnabas Swinstead … 2 cottages in Lovell End etc. Chargeable with payment of legacy of £200 to daughter Esther Mathews within 2 years after his decease, with interest in the meantime Will proved in the Leighton Buzzard Peculiar Court on 20 February 1823 Admission of Barnabas Swinstead at court on 29, 30 May 1828 1838
