- Scope and ContentExceedingly happy at Grantham's appointment to Secretary of State. Ready to resign his own position to Frederick unless he thinks of returning to Spain. Mystical table [present] from him via Lady Harris in order they may correspond in code. Has written a long letter to Grantham coming with a Mr. Bonar to Whitehall. Bonar, a merchant, connected with the rich Thomsons and Peters, respectable and well informed. Grantham may be pleased to converse on the commerce of his country. Likes Russia almost as much as Frederick did Spain. La Torre thinner and more yellow than any Grangee he ever saw, a true Castilian, keeps up same time and style he used when Governor at Havannah.
