    Act of Parliament concerning sale of estates slowed down by Lawyers. Barely time to get it through current Sessions. Grantham & Robinson to respond quickly. Arrangements. Mr. T. Weddell ready to consent to proposals. W. Weddell anxious not to delay proceedings due to latter’s singular humours. Has lately decided to marry his maidservant next summer. Weddell worried about the influences over him in his reclusive life at Waddow. Enclosed paper [present - see below] listing all Trusts to be asked for and all Estates most proper to sell for Sir T. Tancred's Estates, if they should agree. Little Farm over water opposite Newby & a field at Skelton, to be given up by Weddell. Wishes to have same power of granting leases that was given to him by the Act for their name change i.e. 21 years etc... Estates proposed to be sold: Estates, Manor & Tithes of Huntington & Earswick, Grimston, Hensall Heck & Balere, Widdington. The George Inn at York. Several farms (in Craven) at Shaw Gate, Deepdale Head, Pasture House, Farm at Gargrave, Trusts of Act and Clauses given. Leasehold of Mulwith [?] mentioned and Contingent Legacy of £5000 for Margaret Weddell. Trustees are Daniel Laselles of Goldsborough and Henry Duncombe of Copsgrove.
