Letter to Mr. Browne enclosed [not present]. Did Swinburne visit Saltram in his way or make a journey with the Bishop to pay Grantham a visit. Probably no time to amend new edition of the Tour. Details of Waddilove's planting at Newby and arrangements for a possible visit of Grantham to Newby at Christmas. Going to Northumberland for a few days. Wishes to be remembered to Lord Chatham. Bought the coloured Trajes for him. Expects all the Consuls now arrived with Mr. Duff & Mr. Turnbull. Latter has £20 for Waddilove. Valencia Marble Tables, any information from Mr. Marsh? Grantham forgot to write to ladies at York. What does Waddilove owe Mr. Robinson? Hope latter recovered the two guineas from Swinburne. Quote from Mr. Ellis’ brother concerning Mr. Murgatroyd's Living of Lofthouse, worth £200 per annum. Has St. Jas. [St. James] Paper, would like Morning Paper now & then, directed to George Onslow Esq., M.P. for Topcliffe.
