2nd Oct 1928 ‘Received message at 11 o’clock to close school for the rest of the day, as the mayor had granted Leagrave and Limbury children a holiday on the occasion of Incorporation with the Borough. We kept children at play in the playground till 11.15 so that no accident should occur if the Marsh Rd were crowded with extra traffic.’
