  • Scope and Content
Received Mr. Robinson's letter. Doesn't know whether Nuncio's Queen’s Ware will come by same ship as the Coach. Believes two cases for Naples will, value £11.4.6. Wedgewood's shop; doesn't trust himself there, everything so tempting. Haven't bought Angelica [Kaufman/Kauffmann] etc...for Mr. Robinson, if he finds a good impression it will be 15 or 20 [shilling?] instead of 7/6. Arker's Sale; bought Gruterus for Nuncio, 40/48 large papers at £4. to be sent with Queen’s Ware. Will probably send set of Coffee Cups for Grantham & Count Massin. Received ten pounds from Draper on Grantham's account. Setting out for Yorkshire & his two parishes next week. French Coufels Saddle finished. Worried about sending it in case coach breaks down. Is he to have a Harness for Sparre's or his own Chaise' for a pair of horses' or any old harness just for journey. Dined with Mr. Aislabie. Thinks of Grantham and Frederick. Bourke chosen for Bristol. Mr. Weddel or Baker to come in for Malton. Braganza acts well & is expected to read well. Will send if printed. Two sateen quilted waistcoats bought. Colour sample enclosed [present]. If colour known of cloth & linings for St. Ildefonso or Escurial would match them exactly. C. Carlets arrived, [? Count Carlit]. Lord Shelburne in treaty with J.........[letter ripped].
