Mr. Worsley, visited him again having seen his son at Westminster meeting. Grantham's cousin talks of visiting Spain. Bishop of Chester [Beilby Porteus] enquiring after Grantham and, particularly, Frederick. Lord Guernsey asked for six pounds of plain, moist Spanish snuff. He saw Parvus Jules at the Hague, speaks much of Grantham. Archbishop of York gone to Bath, thought to be better. "Should there be a successor your Ldshp. will I hope excuse me if I am forward in an application for same footing in that Cathedral, that as Vicar of Top [Topcliffe]. I may be equal to Clough as well as in the Road to Strensall". Davilon [Davila] to become a member of the Royal Society. Present of Natural Curiosities for new Museum at Madrid to be forwarded. Mr. D. Barrington mentioned that notification to King of Spain would be through Lord Dartmouth. Waddilove said he thought it should be through Grantham. Plantations; knows nothing of those mentioned.
