that Sidney, Lord Godolphin, Baron of Rialton, P.C., on behalf of the Earl of Bath (defendant), produced a witness who said that he purchased of said Earl of Bath, the custody of two perambulations or walks in Cramborne Chase in the Forest of Windsor, and of the lodge, woods in the said Chase, and fees and profits belonging, for which he paid to John Hoskyns, esquire (by the direction of said Earl of Bath), £2,000 (part of money due to said John Hoskyns on a Mortgage from Sir George Carterett, knight and baronet deceased); in December 1684 [X520/256 ?]
