- Date free textNot dated c. 1780
- Production dateFrom: 1780 To: 1780
- Scope and ContentThanks for putting up with her "chattering Richard" [Worsley]. Received letter from Nanny [Anne, Grantham's sister] and one from Mr. Parker, [Grantham's brother in law], recommending Richard to Captain Hope, to be forwarded. Report from Nanny of Combined Fleet in the Channel. Not confirmed assume false. Our Fleet returned and in Torbay. Stunk out of her room by whitewash and paint fumes. Lady Middleton [nee Fanny Pelham] to Town to have tooth pulled. Only burnt nerve after all. Doesn't like her account of Lady Pelham, "much fatigued with company". Mrs. Nisbett dead. Hope Lord and Lady Grantham enjoy the country.
