Arrived safely. Shocked at state of his father after his illness. Being attended by Drs. Brocklesby and Steele and Surgeon Greaves. Has taken lodgings near Kensington. Miss Robinson [Anne, Grantham's sister] and Mr. Parker [John, Grantham’s brother-in-law] both well. Embargo laid on French ships in ports of these Kingdoms. Declaration of War against France expected to follow.
