Lord and Lady Carlisle, Charles Richard, Shee dined at Lord Waldegrave's. Lady Waldegrave's match, married 6 September 1766. Latter would have been King’s brother’s daughter. Lady Waldegrave the Princess is to go to Court as Lady Waldegrave the Countess, [text in French] "that which called itself vocation was not lacking either. The French Ambassador was dining, he sat himself beside My Lady Craven conveniently and without any person complaining ,the princess, the Gospel of the day, the only fruit of the marriage,Mademoiselle [?here] the King’s brother’s daughter,first cousin to the King,the Countess, in that the two ladies will be mingled but woe to those who are gulled by it." Stanhopes [Ribband] which is designed for Sir G. Macarthy. Lord Townshend will come back and Lord Harct [Harcourt]?.. go if he can chose his own Secretary. Mr. D'Oyley will succeed Tom Wheatly as Secretary for Lord Suffolk.
