    News update on Grantham's friends. Carlisle, Hare, Storer and Jack St. John supped there last night. Carlisle, March, Selwyn and Hare going to Newmarket today on way to Sir Ch.[Charles] Bunbury's, Euston etc... Carlisle to Castle Howard for a month next week with Hare and Storer. Latter two just home from foreign expedition with the Foxes. Lord Rt. [Robert?] Spencer expected in three weeks, currently in Paris. Lady Carlisle and little girl well. Lady Louisa with her. Selwyn was at Castle How [Howard] at the birth. Will ensure other members of Club write to Grantham. At Hamilton's yesterday saw Grantham and his brother's pictures they are both like but do not please Selwyn etc... John Scott is a ‘Cuckold with eclat’, details in papers. Will write of any of events of interest. “There is not a coast in Europe that is yet inform’d of Dinon’s being clapt by the Giberti, or Jack St. John by Mr Kennedy”. Richard has won ‘des resosns’ strongly denied. "As the late Lord Coverley used to say, remember child, this is a secret to be divulged so pray don't mention it". Reference to Charles in the dress of a Lunatick etc... Mentions Lady Mary is with child. Lord Helland continues as he did. Parliament doesn't meet until after Xmas, has heard of no changes. Lord Villiers to marry Lady Gertrude Conway. Henny is at Blenheim. Picked up from Beauclerck, Falkner etc... almost £3000, buying a house with it at Brighthelmstone. Mentions a young lady; Carlisles baby[?].
