Campo & Waranzou both visited. [Westminster] Play; well acted, particularly Limo & Davus. Osborne Markham dressed in Mysis & spoke Epilogue with Davus. Fritz sat between Attorney General & Mr. Commissioner Eden, latter not quite at ease, "Mr. Ellis received him some degrees below his usual freezing point". Bull Feasts; newspaper reports of partial prohibition. Reference to White Oxen who led Bulls into their destruction etc.. Prince of Wales; knows nothing to make him more popular that he was, except going frequently to the Play. Lord Loughborough; no immediate advantage by his coming over to Government. He is thought to be in the worst circumstances, even that there is an execution in his house. No summons from Mr. Pitt. Sir J. Harris' memorial not very satisfactory. (C'en est trop si cert badinage Et trop peu si c'est tout de bon) Artificial Stone Figures, upright; will enquire price at Flaxman's. Those at Mr. Parker's were for Mr. Montague. Mrs. Robinson was at Court. Saw Dr. Warren at the Play, glad of good accounts of Grantham. Campo remembers parcel to Dr. F. Bayer & will write home to enquire about it's delivery. Dined on Soup de Sante, some Soals, loin of Veal, a Debdin Hare, Portugal onions, Apple Pye. May pass a day at H. Thompson's before returning to Town. Political reports; Lord Carmarthen to retire with Blue Ribband. Succeeded by Lord Stormont. Sir Joseph [Yorke?] to be Secretary of State. Lord Gower to be a Duke. Lord Stormont to be President of the Council. Lady C. Spencer's marriage put off till summer. Maybe due to Lord Aboyne's fortune being insufficient. Lord Morton talked of for Miss Putteney.
