    Problem with maids at Newby [Park]. Mr. Bell has gone over to see family there. This housemaid has had eruptions on forehead & arms previously and has been given ointment. Mr. Bell did not suspect her complaint. Fritz thinks Lambe unpardonable & suggests reform of nursery. Mr. Belwood to be at Newby tomorrow, supposes if he knew what passed at St. James' would be designing a palace. Lord Midleton not well. Mr. Montague thinks he should remarry. Wedels [sic] enquired after Fritz. Sir John Ramsden & Bud Parker expected at Newby. Tom Pelham not happy with his mare. Grantham very frisky at Campo's. Fritz doesn't like his headaches following gout, attend to Kitchen. Has Tom Broderick given up his profession? Ground not thawed enough for planting at Newby Park. Update on Fritz's gout. Fingers in flannel etc...
