Grantham's satisfaction with state of works at Newby. Communication between Wings, Garden, Parade Ground etc. Dined with Sir J. Harris, Batt, Moysey, Fraser. Lady Harris better. House of Commons, too late to hear Lord North speak. Pitt "able & too sincere". Lord Mulgrave moved the previous question at 11 o'clock "absurd measure" etc. Eat flounders and Mutton chop at home. Visited Stratton Street, Pelhams & Lady Rockingham there. Sir R Payne reports Mrs. Walpole has no hope of recovery. Accounts of Colonel Broderick better. Dining with Tom Pelham, perhaps at Footes.
