    Canada supplies a large portion of the masts and spars and writer believes the yards for the Royal Navy are chiefly supplied from this source. Orders have been sent to the East Indies for Hemp. Admiral Sir G C Berkeley and the East India Command: he was recalled and the Order about impressing seamen appeared in the same gazette which may be taken as a rebuke. Would not be surprised if much of the timber from Canada came from America, and was smuggled across to Canada for export.
